cover_newyorker_190David Eagleman, The New Yorker

I had the pleasure of being profiled by Burkhard Bilger in my favorite magazine, The New Yorker.  Read the article online or read the pdf

I saw your profile on NovascienceNow.
I have also read your profile in the New Yorker and the in-depth explanation of your time perception experiment and it was fascinating. I think the work you are doing is very important so we can understand how certain, unthought of elements of our brain work, such as time perception and synesthesia, so we can all attempt to understand these mysterious phenomenons.

I read the New Yorker article and find your area of research and your approaches to it captivating. Do you take into account in some way (other than, for instance, the individual's perception of amount of time elapsed on SCAD) a person's threshold/tolerance for those types of events? I know many people who describe roller coasters or hiking along open ledges as scary, whereas my own descriptor would be exhilarating. Is there a pattern to the results which correlates to these perceptions?
